Just a few notes from the webinar about Gale’s PowerSearch interface I attended recently. PowerSearch is a type of federated search tool that can search across all Gale databases. More info is available at: http://www.gale.com/powersearch/powersearch/index.htm
- Can incorporate a PowerSearch form on any webpage
- PowerSearch of Gale databases is FREE
- Will group results from Gale databases by material type and sub-category
A related product, called PowerSearch Plus, will allow federated searching of Gale and non-Gale databases. There is a fee for this service. More info and screenshots are available at: http://www.gale.com/powersearch/plus/index.htm
- PS+ does not aggregate or group results from non-Gale databases
- PS+ result links will lead to the other databases’ native interfaces.
