Build your own RSS feed of new library titles

Posted by comartslibrarian on December 1, 2006

Libraries are beginning to hop on the RSS bandwagon by developing RSS feeds of new titles or news items. Now imagine being able to custom-build your own RSS feed of new library titles based on subject area, language, and date…

This webpage, developed at my alma mater, takes the “new titles” feed concept to the next level: http://www.library.uiuc.edu/newtitles/

What a great use of PHP! My first attempt to build an RSS feed for new databases at my last position pales in comparison (see http://www.lib.utc.edu/databases/new-databases-rss.php). I’m working now on getting an RSS feed of new Com-Arts titles at Regent up and running, so keep your eyes open for this!
