Manage your ‘cites’ with Zotero!

Posted by comartslibrarian on December 6, 2006

One new add-on of benefit to scholars everywhere is Zotero, a new bibliographic management tool that integrates nicely with Firefox. Freely available for download at, this add-on can retrieve lists of catalog titles, store screenshots of webpages, allow for annotation of sources, and export all your citations to RefWorks or other bibliographic management tools.

Zotero itself is a version 1.0 beta and will only work on Firefox 2.0+, but support and improvements are sure to come given the resources behind its development: “Zotero is a production of the Center for History and New Media at George Mason University. It is generously funded by the United States Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation.”*
