I’m in the process of revamping our library’s Information Literacy course in Blackboard — a required, non-credit class for all incoming students at Regent.
In a recent student survey, the question of exporting and printing course content from Blackboard came up. WebCT makes this pretty easy, but Blackboard 6.x does not.
The kind folks at UNC-Chapel Hill have developed a free application that makes a stand-alone website from any Blackboard course exported .zip file. This works on WinXP (not sure about Vista), and Mac OS X — and requires the latest Java plug-in.
I’m planning to try this and hopefully generate a PDF version for students who want a print-copy of our online course.
